Wine Country Sustainability Includes Solar Energy

We'd like to believe that Michel-Schlumberger Wine Estate's commitment to sustainability started with their immaculate solar water fountain installation using Solariver's 20 watt solar water pump kit (pictured below), but we just can't take the credit for this impressive and massive commitment to sustainability.

From the beginning, Michel-Schlumberger Wine Estate in Healdsburg, California has committed to preserving the land and environment and they pride themselves on leading the way in Wine Country Sustainability. [Cue round of applause].

They've been using solar energy since 2016 at the estate, having installed a 215-kilowatt energy generating system. It’s the largest solar energy generating system in Dry Creek Valley, consisting of 672 ground-mounted solar panels and three inverters! It just so happens to also feature one of Solariver's solar water pumps on property and hailing at center stage in the middle of the courtyard's pool.

The solar energy "system generates all our electrical needs, and in a typical year we generate more electricity than we use and sell the excess back to the energy provider on the grid."

What's more impressive, over the life of the system they will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 5,000 tons of CO2, which is the equivalent of planting over 200,000 trees.

Cheers to this amazing example of sustainability!
